The next step is to enroll in a class.

The third step is show up for class, study the question banks, review the material every day for a week and pass the 4 coast gaurd approved test.

Lastly, get a TWIC card and send in your completed UCSG packet. Use the NMC Wizard Guide for New Applications to get familiar with the steps necessary to complete a packet. Note that the STCW is not applicable.
